    COACH STALLION

    Chris Harte

It all started in school, running as hard as I could at cross country in the hope I could get in another lap in just for fun.

From there it was all about the challenge, dreaming big and getting it done. It has always been about the adventure, the journey, the experiences, the scenery, the people. There is nothing better than exploring new places with a crew of friends, achieving something you thought impossible.

Running has always been my salvation from the stress of the world, freedom from its constraints and a happiness in the simplicity of the job in front of me.

Stallion Run has grown from my passion to share my love for running with those around me and so #herdlife was created.

I have been racing competitively for almost 20years, competing in track and field, trail running, ultra-marathons, mountain biking, road cycling, xterra triathlon, ironman, multisport, rogaine and swimrun.

Throughout I have been exclusively self coached utilising my knowledge of coaching techniques and physiology from a Bachelor in Sport Coaching and 15 years of coaching experience since.

Stallion Run's methodology is to build running economy to help runners get faster and stronger while making it feel easier at the same time. This is done by focusing on specific blocks of training, structured to develop the right energy system at the right time in the athletes development.

Simply, we take the guess work out of training, you reap the rewards.

    THE ORIGINALS

Rising from the 2011 Christchurch earthquakes, a group of ragtag climbers with no safe rock to climb, ventured back into the hills, this time in search of new adventures. The last flicker of amber light would dance with the pounding feet and puffs of steam from flaring nostrils. This group of eccentric dirtbags would soon became affectionately known as “The Stallions”. Mixing outrageous outfits, crazy challenges and mid trail group singing, some would argue they found trail running transcendence. It might have been the endorphins of racing your mates, knowing nobody else was crazy to run at midnight on a friday night or the remnants of the pre-run earl grey tea, but there is no doubt that in the darkness of the tussock covered Port Hills, the herd was born.
